About project

Since Independence, Kyrgyzstan has worked closely with donors to improve its institutional capacity to plan, co-ordinate and assess the various forms of foreign assistance it receives from donors and other international organisations in support of its national development programs.

In the framework of this activity on the demand of the Kyrgyz Government (State Committee on Foreign Investment and Economic Development) UNDP Tracking Human Development Progress Project and UNDP Political and Administrative Central Governance Program developed an external assistance database.

The new database was developed using standard Development Cooperation Analysis System (DCAS) soft-ware. The data for this database was provided by Goskominvest and collected from all development organisations using a questionnaire. The DCAS database includes information on both investment and technical assistance projects that have been provided to the republic since 1992 (552 projects). Information is broken down by donor, geographic area of assistance, executing agency, development sector, type of assistance, target beneficiary, project financial commitment, duration, as well as project goals and objectives.

UNDP policies are also designed to assist the Government of Kyrgyzstan improve the transparency of its national development programs and policy-making processes by increasing access to key development data. This means making information available to all stakeholders, including NGOs, the private sector, government officials from ministries and local governance structures, as well as other donors and decision-makers. As such, key information collected for the DCAS database is now available through this Donor Mapping site.
